1126 Otero is a main belt asteroid orbiting the Sun. Approximately 12 kilometers in diameter, it makes a revolution around the Sun about once every 3½ years. It was discovered by Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth on January 11, 1929.[1] It was named for Carolina Otero, who was known as "la belle Otero." She was able to amass immense wealth because of her rich and famous lovers, who fought each other and ruined themselves to win her favor. Its provisional designation was 1929 AC.[2]
